Summer Supply Chain Preparedness Update

As the summer selling season approaches, we would like to provide you with a brief planning update to help ensure your inventory includes essential titles.

Based on past seasonal patterns, we expect order volume to rise in the coming weeks, which could lead to longer processing times. Additionally, this year’s calendar includes several closely spaced three-day holiday weekends — Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and Independence Day which may further limit our processing and shipping schedule.

We are confident in our preparedness. Since this time last year, we’ve strengthened our supply chain by adding staff and maintaining steady production across all facilities. We have also implemented new strategies that allow us to process orders swiftly and efficiently. Normally, most orders ship within 2-3 business days. During peak periods, some orders may take longer. Transit times vary by destination and carrier.

Our recommendations to help you plan:

  • For fast-moving and seasonal titles, consider ordering a bit earlier and where appropriate, carrying a bit more inventory to stay ahead of frequent reorders.
  • Review upcoming events, promotions, and summer reading needs now so you can order with confidence.
  • Build a little extra lead time into orders placed in late June and early July, factoring in variable transit time to your location.
  • When practical, order in carton quantities to support the most efficient processing.

Our objective is to maintain a consistent supply through the summer and into the fall. We will keep a close watch on volumes and let you know if there are any major changes that could affect scheduling.
